Education Alternatives conference

The Teaching and Related Professions Task Group are planning another training day for careers advisers on the theme of  'education alternatives'.

Education Alternatives

A graduate career in education is not restricted to teaching roles in schools. The education sector provides a rich and diverse range of opportunities. Join the Teaching and Related Professions Task Group for this one-day speaker-led event which aims to provide insights into careers for students and graduates who would like to work in the education sector, but who are seeking alternatives to teaching in schools or colleges. We’ll be covering opportunities both to teach in alternative settings, such as home tuition and prisons, and alternative roles in the wider sector, such as heritage and health education roles. This coincides with the re-launch of the task group’s much-used Education Alternatives publication.

Speakers and topics on the day include:

  • Novus – Head of Education will be discussing offender education, training and employability services
  • Birmingham Museums Trust – Museum Education Officer will attend to discuss heritage education
  • Society of Education Consultants – Education Consultant will be attending to discuss how he supports schools
