Technology Enhanced Careers and Employability Learning: Technology, E-learning and the Web

COMPULSORY WEBINAR 22 FEBRUARY 2021 For all careers staff who want to understand how technology, e-learning and the web can enhance the delivery of information, advice and guidance to students. 

The course focuses on developing effective practice appropriate to a range of career and employability-related roles e.g. management, education, marketing, employer-facing, information, advice, guidance or coaching. It will enable participants to design and deliver technology-enhanced solutions in their work.

Participants are required to complete at least one day of online/blended learning, including attendance at a live webinar and pre-course work before participating. The compulsory webinar will take place on Monday 22 February 2021 at 12:00. The subsequent two days will be an opportunity to demonstrate their learning from the pre-course work and to network and support each other to enhance further learning.


Course programme

On this blended learning course (self-directed online learning, webinars and other remote delivery methods), participants will:

  • distinguish a range of aims, roles and contexts relevant to technology, e-learning and the web
  • systematically identify a range of technology-based solutions
  • critically evaluate relevant aims, roles, contexts and technology-based solutions, taking into account current and future need
  • analyse practices, stakeholder needs and the benefits of using a range of technologies
  • develop confidence in using a range of technologies to enhance the delivery of careers and employability related content to stakeholders.

Outline syllabus

The course is delivered by The University of Warwick in collaboration with AGCAS; it is an optional module for CEIGHE MA, PG Diploma and PG Certificate registrants. Registrants are supported by materials and resources from both the AGCAS and The University of Warwick’s websites and considerable blended learning resources.

It is also open to non-registrants whose course support and materials will be provided solely by AGCAS.
