Vacancy on Creative Industries Task Group

22 October 2020

The AGCAS Creative Industries Task Group is seeking to recruit a new member to fulfil the role of Task Group Secretary.

About the group

The group currently comprises 6 full time members, 1 co-opted member and meet two or three times a year (virtually in 2021) to establish a community of good practice (comprising careers and employability professionals and relevant industry partners); provide guidance to the wider AGCAS community about the creative sector; and support those working with students and industry partners through research and trends in the sector.

What we are looking for

We are an active and enthusiastic group and are keen to welcome new members who are working with the creative industries (using the DCMS definition of “those industries which have their origin in individual creativity, skill and talent and which have a potential for wealth and job creation through the generation and exploitation of intellectual property”).

The current membership includes careers guidance practitioners, employer engagement specialists, a head of service and a co-opted member representing an industry body. The current membership work with a diverse range of creative subjects such as fashion, visual arts, graphic design, stage and screen, music, games and animation.

We are looking for a new member who can take on the role of Task Group Secretary, which will involve scheduling of meetings, creating agendas and minutes, and assisting in the organisation of events and conferences. The new member will be chosen based on subjects in their day-to-day portfolio, job role and location, in order to ensure balance of interests in the group membership.

Applicants should clearly demonstrate their knowledge and experience of the creative industries, and how they can contribute to the Task Group as Secretary.

Please feel free to contact Rish Baruah, Task Group Chair with any questions you might have about the group or for an informal conversation.
