Vacancies on Employer Engagement Task Group

27 August 2019

The AGCAS Employer Engagement Task Group are seeking to recruit two new members (one on a one-year, maternity cover basis) to join their group. We are particularly looking to recruit members who bring diversity to the group and who are energised about the work we have coming up.

About the Task Group

The principal aims of the Task Group are to:

  • Enhance professional practice in the area of employer engagement.
  • Contribute to the AGCAS strategy and its impact on AGCAS employer engagement members, the higher education careers profession and wider society, including employers.
  • Create a sense of common purpose so all employer engagement AGCAS members feel engaged and represented.

Some of the Task Group’s most recent achievements include:

  • Organising the 2nd AGCAS Employer Engagement Conference in June 2019, welcoming 130 employer engagement professionals.
  • Working with AGCAS to feed into training and development opportunities aimed at employer engagement staff.
  • Designing an E-Induction toolkit for employer engagement new starters.

The Task Group’s upcoming plans include:

  • Developing and delivering training and networking opportunities for AGCAS member employer engagement professionals including the biennial AGCAS Employer Engagement Conference.
  • Conducting research, potentially with partners, to enhance professional practice in employer engagement.
  • Creating and sharing best practice case studies to share amongst the AGCAS community
  • Discussing and sharing best practice around employer engagement.

The Task Group comprises eight members and meets twice a year in person with semi-regular conference calls in between.
