NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY AND UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL WIN THE AGCAS BUILDING EFFECTIVE PARTNERSHIPS AWARD 2019

The winners of the AGCAS Building Effective Partnerships Award 2019 are Newcastle University and the University of Liverpool for their collaborative delivery of the inaugural Amsterdam Sustainable Business Challenge, providing aspiration raising employability opportunities for underrepresented student groups.

Newcastle and Liverpool Universities worked with Vrjie and Groningen Universities in the Netherlands, plus 16 high profile employers from both countries, to deliver the Amsterdam Sustainable Business Challenge.  100 students across the four institutions were selected via a competitive process focused on supporting widening participation students. Students worked in cross-university teams on real life sustainability tasks set by local partner Amsterdam Inbusiness. Evidence shows students developed a range of employability skills through this innovative event.
