New report launched on supporting international graduate employability

28 January 2020

AGCAS is delighted to launch a new report, Supporting International Graduate Employability: Making Good on the Promise, produced in collaboration with Universities UK International (UUKi), the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) and Coventry University.

Through the research we set out to identify how universities support the employability of their international students (non-EU students registered on a full-time/part-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree course) in a context where, increasingly, this is a factor in international students’ decision-making.

Careers and employability services have an instrumental role to play in making good on the promise of post-study work and supporting international students to achieve positive outcomes, wherever they go in the world. The report outlines current good practice within careers and employability services, within institutions and across the whole UK higher education sector, and recommends where further improvement and support are required to deliver future benefits and shape the policy agenda.

We want to thank everyone who took part in the research. The wealth of good practice on display in the report is testament to the innovation, expertise and knowledge that exists within the AGCAS community.

However, we would like this report to go beyond celebrating practice. We must all work together, within the sector and beyond, to improve international students' experience and enhance international graduate employability.

How can we make good on the promise to support international graduate employability?
