Vacancies on AGCAS Governance and Risk Committee

12 February 2020

The AGCAS Governance and Risk Committee is seeking to recruit three new members.

About the Committee

The Committee currently comprises four full time members and meets three or four times per year. The Governance and Risk Committee reports and is accountable to the AGCAS Board of Directors, advising them on reputational, regulatory and financial risk. The Committee takes an independent and objective view of operational and risk management matters for AGCAS, ensuring its business planning and decision making processes satisfy the requirements of good governance.

What we are looking for

We are an active and enthusiastic group and are keen to welcome new members who have an interest in supporting the sustainable future of AGCAS as a membership organisation. You need an interest in future trends, political risk and money as well as appreciation for a robust process and well-ordered management accounts. This committee is a great opportunity to gain an insight into the strategy and operations of AGCAS and would be good preparation for those considering standing for Board of Directors roles in the future. The time commitment covers both meeting attendance and preparation as well as an allocation of internal audit project work in which the committee member provides objective assessment of an AGCAS audit process and makes recommendations for improvement.

A current committee member commented:

“Serving on the Governance and Risk Committee has been enormously interesting and fulfilling. It has allowed me to contribute to AGCAS in new ways and gain a valuable perspective on the ‘behind the scenes’ running of our professional association. If you’re looking for new opportunities to develop your management experience, then I recommend you apply.”
