Shortlist announced for the AGCAS Theme Director: Academic Alignment

The AGCAS nominations working party are delighted to present the following nominees for election to the position of AGCAS Theme Director: Academic Alignment;

The nominations working party invites all AGCAS members to read the statements provided by the nominees carefully before determining their choice.

Member voting procedures


To vote, please mark your chosen candidate on the ballot paper and email a copy of this to You should receive an email confirmation that your vote was received immediately.

Voting closes at 17:00 28 November 2018. On the 29 November 2018 members of the nominations working party will meet at the AGCAS Office in Sheffield to count and verify all votes.

The nominee with the highest number of votes will be elected to the post of AGCAS Theme Director: Academic Alignment. The results of the election will be announced in ARENA on the 3 December 2018.

The voting inbox is a secure inbox. All votes are presented to the NWP anonymously. Membership details are used only to ensure the eligability of the vote. 

Shortlisting processes to date

The nominations working party first advertised the AGCAS Theme Director role to Heads of Service on the 31 August 2018, and to the wider membership on the 3 September 2018. Advertising for the role also took place at the AGCAS Annual Conference 2018. Nominations were open for six weeks, and closed on the 12 October 2018. View the original advertisement.

Shortlisting began week beginning 15 October 2018. Shortlisting was extended by one week.

During the shortlisting process, the received nominations were considered by the nominations working party. Scores were awarded against the criteria supplied in the Theme Director role description.

The total available score for each candidate was 85. It was agreed by the nominations working party that a nominee must score at least 60% to be put forward to the members for election.
