Sheffield Hallam University wins the AGCAS Strategic Innovation Award 2020

The winner of the AGCAS Strategic Innovation Award 2020 is Sheffield Hallam University for its Highly Skilled Employment (HSE) project.

Sheffield Hallam has a vision to become the world's leading applied university, shaping students' futures to prepare them for whatever they choose to do. A key part of this approach is to ensure all students are prepared for highly skilled employment at the end of their studies. Sheffield Hallam made a bold commitment to embed employability experience for every student, on every course, at every level. To deliver this ambition, the university launched the Highly Skilled Employment (HSE) project, a step-change initiative to deliver a truly transformative employability experience across the University.

Judges comments

Of the winner, the judges said:

“This initiative is bold and ambitious. By including every level of study and every faculty, this is clearly a cross-university strategic initiative, showing innovation, depth and impact. At Sheffield Hallam, careers and employability engagement is not optional. This project is at the heart of the university’s strategy, and the range of initiatives is very impressive.”

The winner was announced at the AGCAS Awards for Excellence showcase webinar on 15 July 2020.
