Jan Moore wins AGCAS Significant Influence Award 2017

13 September 2017

The winner of the 2017 AGCAS Significant Influence Award 2017 is Jan Moore for her tireless commitment to AGCAS and sector as a whole.

The comments below were in support of Jan’s nomination:

“Jan has been an AGCAS stalwart over many decades. An accomplished practitioner and well-respected careers service manager, her contribution to our profession was already noted amongst her peers in AGCAS. Her legacy and impact, however, will never be more significant than in relation to her tireless work around the development and role of DLHE within the sector. For over eight years as Chair of the strategically pivotal Graduate Labour Market (GLaM) group, she enthusiastically flew the flag for AGCAS member services, in the face of some real challenges, and championed our cause, often singlehandedly! She always represented the views of all member services and not just her own or any narrow mission group. I suspect many of the external members, such as the Office of National Statistics, remained blissfully unaware of which university Jan actually worked for, she was that collegiate in her approach.”

“As we move to an new era of Graduate Outcomes Survey and 15 month centralised collection etc. it is important to remember that without the relentless and dedicated work of Jan, often behind the scenes, the powerful lobbying voice of AGCAS might have remained peripheral and relatively insignificant. I am in no doubt that the reason Dan Cook and others insisted that AGCAS play such an influential role in the DLHE review was, in huge part, to the high regard placed in our insight and views due to Jan’s efforts and energies.”
