Marcus Andrews appointed as new AGCAS Membership Manager

26 May 2017

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Marcus Andrews our new Membership Manager. Marcus has had a long affiliation with AGCAS through his position of Student Support Manager in Careers and Placements at Aston University. Prior to working in a careers service Marcus worked for a number of professional bodies, including BPS Birmingham Future and the National Association for Student Employment Services (NASES).

Previous AGCAS involvement

Marcus has now been a member of AGCAS for many years and in fact won the Award for Outstanding Newcomer at the 2011 Awards for Excellence. He was also Chair of the Placements and Work Based Learning Task Group between 2014 - 2016, and last year was on the judging panel for the AGCAS Awards for Excellence.

Marcus commented on his appointment:

“Having been a member of AGCAS for over seven years, I have experienced the amazing work that AGCAS does and I can't wait to be part of the team as we start to implement the new strategy. I’m really looking forward to working with and supporting all our members, as we deliver our strategic vision – to ensure AGCAS is inclusive and representative for all.”

AGCAS Executive Director Elaine Boyes commented on the appointment:

“We’re all delighted that Marcus will be joining the team. He has been involved with AGCAS on a voluntary basis now for many years and his position as Student Support Manager has equipped him with wealth of knowledge for his new role as AGCAS Membership Manager. This coupled with his prior experience of professional membership bodies made him the ideal candidate for the position.”

Marcus will officially start his positon as Membership Manager in August and is very much looking forward to meeting more members in September at our Annual Conference for HE Careers and Employability Professionals in Nottingham.
