Service Membership

Conferring the most benefits, Service Membership is open to careers and employability services which support all students across an institution that offers higher education (HE) qualifications. Service Members must agree to operate in accordance with the AGCAS Code of Ethics and Membership Quality Standard.

To be eligible for Service Membership:

  • The institution must offer higher education level qualifications
  • The careers and employability service must offer support across the whole institution and to all students on higher education qualifications
  • There must be a named Head of Service for the purpose of liaison with AGCAS. The Head of Service will formally approve individual members and will be a member of the Advisory Council
  • The service must commit to operating within/to the AGCAS Code of Ethics and Membership Quality Standard.

Please be aware, AGCAS membership should not be sought to pursue commercial benefit.

  • Launching in 2020/21, our Professional Pathways are designed to articulate and maintain high professional standards for individuals working within the sector.

Research and Knowledge

  • Access and the opportunity to contribute to the Research and Knowledge Hub, a repository for articles, research and resources in the field of careers and employability.
  • Access and the opportunity to contribute to our termly e-journal, Phoenix, which shares best practice in careers and employability service delivery.
  • Participate in sector research and receive member-only access to full reports.
  • Opportunities to write content for AGCAS publications and other key outputs, such as What Do Graduates Do?
  • Access AGCAS support and guidance through the central team and Research and Knowledge Committee.
  • Improve knowledge and practice through easy to access, up-to-date research and practitioner-led insights into the key issues affecting the sector and profession.

Affiliate subscription is open to individuals who are actively involved in the provision of careers education, information, advice or guidance to higher education students and graduates and/or engaged in another professional activity closely related to higher education careers and employability work.
