What you’ll do

To provide a full range of careers guidance activities, including one to one support, workshops and presentations, to undergraduate and postgraduate students at centres of the School of Business & Technology and to support University Apprenticeship programmes.

 Role requirements

You have a postgraduate Diploma in Careers Education, Information and Guidance or similar qualification. You have knowledge and experience of working in a Careers service with Higher Education students or in careers guidance services or in graduate recruitment. You have an understanding of the labour market aligned to the professions of business, finance and technology in particular, including the recruitment and selection practices of employers and emerging trends.

Additionally you have an understanding of the skills and personal attributes that support ‘career readiness'. You have experience working with EU and international students and experience of delivering services on a one-to-one basis as well as to small and large groups. You have excellent interpersonal, negotiation and networking skills with a variety of stakeholders. You have an understanding of the need to learn, share knowledge, and build relationships within a team.

With your proven ability to work well under pressure and take initiative you can set your own goals and meet deadlines. You possess excellent organisational and time management skills. You can produce clear and concise written and oral reports. Please note that this role will involve evening and weekend work when required.
