Discussion list rules
First, check in Subscriber's Corner on the JISCMail website that you have already subscribed to the list you want to post a message to. Email lists@agcas.org.uk to join a new list.
We ask that all AGCAS members using our JISCMail discussion lists adhere to the following guidelines:
• No attachments
• Messages must have a meaningful subject heading
• Messages must be sent to the correct list (check list criteria)
• Messages must appear 'neutral', especially when seeking feedback about
an external organisation. Members should ask whether others have had
dealings with the organisation in question and ask those who have to
reply with their feedback off-link
• Messages sent in reply to another posting should be sent to the
originator of the message, not to the whole list
• Messages promoting AGCAS regional training events may be sent to
AGCAS-SERVICELINK or AGCAS-NETWORKLINK, but only after they have
been advertised separately by Jan Cornish (AGCAS Training
Administrator) to a list of regional members - and the message should
include a header explaining that it's an AGCAS regional event and the link
to the event on the AGCAS website
• Members asking to be removed from a particular discussion list, or with
requests for changes in subscription options (ie, a change of email
address) or with any other query relating to list subscription, should send
their request to lists@agcas.org.uk
