About AGCAS
The Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) is the professional association for higher education (HE) careers practitioners and those involved in the provision of careers and employability education, information, advice and guidance to current or prospective HE students and graduates.
AGCAS Strategy 2008-2011
AGCAS's continuing aims are to work with appropriate partners and stakeholders:
- To promote excellence and innovation, equality of opportunity and
continuous quality improvement in CEIAG in HE
- To provide high quality services and products that support and inform the
delivery of CEIAG within HE
- To inform and influence policies and agendas relating to careers guidance,
graduate recruitment, employment and further study for the benefit of
students and graduates, our members and the sector
- To develop and foster local, regional, national and international networks
and partnerships to further these key aims
- To ensure that AGCAS as an organisation is properly constituted,
structured and managed
- To promote excellence in CEIAG delivery by encouraging a continuous
quality improvement approach and supporting member services in this
process
- To lead and support member services in responding proactively to the
emerging needs of a diverse body of users and stakeholders in a
changing environment
- To take a professional lead in creating, promoting and maintaining
appropriate policies and strategies that develop employability
- To promote and develop training events and networks to meet the
changing needs of CEIAG practitioners and to market such provision to
the widest appropriate audience, incorporating emerging technologies
- To provide relevant and up-to-date CEIAG products to the widest
audience, in collaboration with partners
- To promote and develop AGCAS as a research-based professional body
- To communicate the value of CEIAG, AGCAS and its activities in order to
inform and influence the widest appropriate audience
- To promote the benefits of AGCAS membership to appropriate
organisations and individuals
- To operate as a charity and company, properly managed in accordance
with best practice and our Memorandum & Articles of Association
