This course is full. If you wish to book for an alternative date please contact Jan Cornish at the AGCAS office Jan.cornish@agcas.org.uk
This two-day day practical introduction to guidance interviewing is for advisers with little or no experience, or who are new to HE. It is appropriate to both short and longer interventions. The programme contains a range of learning methods, including presentation, discussion, case studies and video interviews with students. We only accept five participants on to this course in order to create a supportive, secure and focused environment for learning.
Who is it for?
Careers advisers who have little or no experience of guidance interviewing or who are new to HE. The course is intended as a 'starter' course and will present an HE perspective on guidance work, including familiar models of practice, so it is equally useful to those with or without a QCG.What will you get out of it?
By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
• describe the skills which underpin our guidance practice;
• apply these skills to short and long interventions;
• analyse the role of structure in guidance interventions;
• identify theories underpinning career choice;
• feel more confident about their guidance skills and appreciate the
importance of continuing development.Date(s) & Timing 08 May 2012 - 09 May 2012 (2 day event) Full Price £600.00 Conference Members £480.00 Affiliate Members £420.00 Associate Members £360.00 Venue University of Leeds Careers Service (Dales Suite) Add to calendar Download event to my Outlook Calendar
