Research Workshop, Warwick

This one-day course is suitable for participants who have no or little experience of research. It may also be useful for those seeking a refresher or with experience of research in different contexts.
By the end of the course, participants will have begun to:• compare and contrast a range of academic, professional, policy and popular texts relevant
to our work• explore and consider literature review, research questions, research strategy and methods
• discuss ethics and values in relation to research in our field
• explore avenues for potential publication
The course will also feature speakers who will talk in more detail about specific areas of research. For example, Dr Barbara Merrill of the Centre for Lifelong Learning has agreed to speak on the use of biographical methods.
This course is only available to registrants on the MA/Postgraduate Diploma/Postgraduate Certificate in Career Education Information and Guidance in Higher Education (CEIGHE) or the Management of Student Work Experience offered in partnership with The University of Warwick. It is of particular relevance to those enrolled on, or considering enrolling on, the Special Study/Research Project and Dissertation modules.
