Supporting Careers Services Working with Creative Students and Graduates, London

    This is an Eastern, London and Southern AGCAS regional training day. Share good practice and network on key topics, such as how to help creative students with self-employment and the current state of arts funding in the UK.

    Presentations

    • Navigating the creative economy (supporting creative students and     
       graduates in their entrepreneurial abilities), presented by Sian Prime,  
       Course Director, MA Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths,
       University of London

    • Developing and delivering a business start-up programme for creative
       students (implementing learning from the NESTA Insight Out programme),
       presented by Sara Middleton, Director of NTI Birmingham, Birmingham City
       University

    • Key points for students selling their own work as artists/creatives - presented
       by Alison Branagan, Author, Creative Industries Consultancy, and Associate
       Lecturer at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design

    • The state of arts funding in the UK, presented by Claire Boulton,
       Relationship Manager, Arts Council England

    Activities will include networking, sharing good practice, open forum - employability inputs.

    The facilitators are Richard Peat, Careers Adviser, Norwich University College of the Arts, and Fiona Tracey, Senior Career Consultant, London Metropolitan University.

    Lunch is included in the cost.

    Please note that this event is primarily for AGCAS members in the Eastern, London and Southern training region. As this training course is run regionally by AGCAS members, the AGCAS Administration Office will not be involved in bookings.
