Commercial Awareness, Sheffield

  1. Thu 17 Jul

A regional AGCAS event taking place on 17 July 2008 in Sheffield. Commercial awareness is a frequently used term, but what exactly does it mean for careers staff, students and careers services? The session aims to increase knowledge of the topic and share good practice.

    It will include:

    - Consideration of terms and definitions of commercial awareness
    - The ‘Employers’ Perspective’- why they think it is important, what commercial awareness they expect from students, how they assess it and how they believe students can demonstrate it.
    - How Careers Services can help students prepare for interviews/assessment centres in relation to commercial awareness
    - How Careers Services themselves can demonstrate a commercially aware approach.

The session will feature input from employers and the format will include formal presentations, interactive elements, and opportunities for group discussion.

This is a REGIONAL AGCAS TRAINING COURSE FOR THE NORTH EAST REGION and the AGCAS Office will therefore NOT be involved in bookings. However, if you wish to use AGCAS Training Vouchers in payment then please contact Jan Cornish at the AGCAS Office.

Please apply on a Regional Course Booking Form (below) to Alison Clay, the course contact.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE EVENT IS PRIMARILY FOR AGCAS MEMBER SERVICES IN THE NORTH EAST REGION. Others may apply if there are still places available when services in the NE region have been accommodated.
