Careers guidance for careers advisers working with research staff, London

   The aim of the day is to provide guidance practice training for careers advisers working with research staff.

   The day is designed for reasonably experienced careers practitioners/ advisers, and staff with advisory roles that include career management and career choice.

   By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
   • describe a range of theoretical concepts and models of practice, including coaching, to use in 1-1 consultations
   • debate and define the needs of research staff
   • understand where their careers practice lies on the IAG continuum
   • evaluate different guidance approaches and resources appropriate to their client group
   • feel more confident about the application of these skills in their careers practice with research staff
