Training the Trainers, Warwick

   A four day residential course for any staff providing training for peer groups whether this be as Trainers for AGCAS, or runnning events internally for careers service colleagues, academics or other staff groups. The focus is not on teaching student groups - see the Group Work course.

   By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
   - analyse and implement an appropriate training design model
   - identify the different training roles with AGCAS including that of trainer on the AGCAS/Reading qualification courses
   - describe theories of learning and group dynamics
   - demonstrate a range of skills to facilitate the delivery of training courses
   - provide and receive feedback and recognise its role in the assessment process
   - demonstrate coaching and mentoring skills
   - develop a personal action plan

   NB: If you intend to do this course as part of a qualification with the University of Reading you need to register for the module with the University. Once AGCAS has offered you a place on the course you will need to complete a University of Reading Module Registration Form – please see below - and return it as soon as possible, certainly before the course runs, to the University (address on form).

   For those of you who have heard about the impending transfer of these courses from the University of Reading to the University of Warwick, then please note that the registration process remains the same until the anticipated handover date of 1 August 2010. Until this time all module registrations will take place through Reading.

   If you would like to stay at Warwick on the night before the course please contact Warwick Conferencing (Scarman Reception Desk Tel: 02476 221111). Please note that AGCAS will not be involved in these 'extra' arrangements and you will be required to pay Warwick directly.
