The Written Word, Sheffield
-
Thu 15 Jul 2010
This session aims to give participants a greater understanding of some of the career areas where written communication is a key element. It will firstly identify a broad range of careers that feature the written word and look at careers resources and websites that can be used to provide further information. It will then focus on a few of these careers in more detail, such as three or four from Publishing, Journalism, Creative Writing, Technical/ Scientific Writing, Advertising and Patent Attorney. The final line-up will depend on availability of speakers but we will aim to feature careers from both the Arts/Humanities and Scientific/Technical areas.
Delivery methods will include presentations from Careers Service staff and representatives from the occupational areas such as professional bodies, employers, academics etc. There will also be some interactive activities, discussions, and questions.
