Careers in Green Science, York

    This event aims to increase awareness of opportunities for science graduates to apply their skills and knowledge to the benefit of the environment, including information about job roles and typical employers. A series of speakers will talk about their areas of specialism (see below). This training day is aimed particularly at Careers Advisers and Information Staff who work with science students and graduates.

    Speakers
    • Centre for Alternative Technology: a workshop on the environmental future of Britain, followed by a presentation about CAT and opportunities for graduates
    • National Non-Food Crops Centre, the UK's national centre for renewable fuels, chemicals and materials: An overview of the work of the NNFCC
    • Green Chemistry Group, University of York: An explanation of what green chemistry is and an introduction to the MSc Green Chemistry course at York and where alumni are now working.

    Cost
    The cost will be £42 per person, to include lunch and refreshments.

    How to book
    Please note that this event is primarily for AGCAS members in the North East region. As this training course is run regionally by AGCAS members, the AGCAS Office will not be involved in bookings. However, if you wish to use AGCAS Training Vouchers in payment then please contact Jan Cornish at the AGCAS Office.
