Academic Career Development Issues for Early Career Researchers

The aim of this event, organised by the Research Staff Task Group, is to enable Careers Advisers working with Early Careers Researchers to develop their understanding of academic career development issues.
The Concordat to Support the Development of Researchers stresses the need for researchers to have access to independent careers advice. This workshop will assist Careers Advisers in developing their practice in an important area of this work.

The workshop will offer the opportunity to:
- Experience at first hand how Peer Review Panels are conducted by taking part in a Mock Peer Review Panel Meeting
- Gain insights concerning the assessment of research proposals and what makes a successful research proposal direct from Academic and Research Council staff working in these areas
- Acquire practical insights into recruitment and selection issues for academic jobs in order to develop Careers Advisers ability to work more effectively with researchers
- Action planning to aid the transfer of what you have learnt back to your serviceHow to book for this event
