How is the cultural and heritage sector remaining relevant in the digital age?, Newcastle upon Tyne

  1. Wed 16 May

This AGCAS NE Regional Training day aims to raise awareness of the changing face of the cultural and heritage sector. We want to demonstrate the diversity of roles within the sector and we hope to challenge some of the preconceptions about the sector with ‘insider’ knowledge from a range of speakers.

Hosted at the Great North Museum: Hancock, Newcastle upon Tyne – one of the venues for 2018’s Great Exhibition of the North – this event will explore the changing world of culture and heritage.

We will be discovering the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. We will find out how people who work within the sector are changing to adapt to an increasingly digital world, and an audience with different expectations, and consequently how the skills required may also be different to those traditionally associated with the sector.

This event aims to ensure that careers staff are as up to date and informed as possible when working with students and employers in relation to this ever popular and competitive sector.

For further information please contact Fiona Hartley, Claire Byron or Kate Austin.
