Quality Assuring Career Management Support for Doctors Conference, York

Careers support for medical students and doctors in training has been developing steadily over the past few years. Although these support services have increased in profile, very little attention has been given to addressing quality assurance issues.
This AGCAS and MCAN (Medical Careers Advisors Network) conference is an opportunity to see how quality assurance can be applied to careers support services for doctors, discuss recent and relevant developments in careers, and share information and good practice.
The conference will cover a range of issues, including:
- Obtaining and using feedback effectively
- Training consultants and SpRs/StRs in careers advice and guidance
- Delivering effective group work sessions
- Ensuring quality in email advice
- Tips for good website design
- Models of quality assurance, quality frameworks and accreditation
- Starting work towards a development strategy for quality standards in careers work with doctorsThe conference is organised by AGCAS and MCAN. It is funded by the UK FPO and supported by PMETB.
Who is it for?
Anyone interested and involved in the provision of a careers support service to doctors and medical students - careers advisers, deanery career services leads, foundation programme directors, medical school career service leads, and others.
