Providing advice to clients? Develop your skills in diagnosing and presenting advice on this lively course including group work and case studies. The focus is on the processes of providing advice rather than guidance.
Who is it for?
Those working in roles where much of their focus is on providing advice, such as information staff, reception and other front-line staff, and those providing duty advice sessions. Also suitable for careers advisers looking to revisit good practice for advice giving.

By the end of the day you will have had the opportunity to:- Distinguish between Information, Advice and Guidance
- Practice using tools such as 'FIRST' to diagnose client needs
- Gain a greater understanding of the boundaries of your role, and when to refer clients on
- Consider the most useful ways to present advice to clients in a manner that also protects you
- Consider difficult situations, problems and responses
