Resources in the Health and Medical Professions

1. AGCAS Discussion Lists

   AGCAS membership gives you access to a range of discussion lists, which allow you to tap into the collective wisdom of the entire membership. There are lists covering specialist areas of interest, and more general lists.

2. Selection Centres for Specialty Training (DVD)

   This DVD provides support for preparing medical students and junior doctors for assessment stations. Using genuine assessors and candidates, the programme shows you what may happen in five different assessment stations.

3. Sector Briefings

   Sector Briefings aim to provide an overview of the key UK employment sectors relevant to students and graduates. There are 28 titles in the series, each conveying the culture of a particular sector, predicting future trends and offering tips for entry and progression, as well as providing examples of typical jobs and employers and links to useful contacts and resources.

4. Options Series

   The Options Series provides an overview of the options available to graduates - and the destinations of previous graduates - from a range of subjects. There are over 70 titles in the series, from Accountancy to Zoology. 

5. Occupational Profiles

   Occupational Profiles focus on the jobs that new and recent graduates are most likely to enter within their first five years of graduation. The profiles are to be used in conjunction with Sector Briefings, which provide an overview of the key employment sectors in the UK.
