International students studying in the UK - Guidance for UK higher education providers
This guidance, produced by the QAA, seeks to establish a UK-wide set of shared principles that reflect good practice in supporting international students' experiences. It has been developed with a view to assisting higher education providers in developing an inclusive environment that meets the challenges associated with an increasingly international student body.

Public information about higher education - Consultation on changes to information published by institutions
This is a joint consultation by HEFCE, Universities UK and GuildHE on proposals for: giving prospective students useful information about higher education courses; developing the National Student Survey; and improving accessibility to the information that higher education institutions publish about their courses and which is used for quality assurance.

Benchmarking to improve efficiency
HESA was commissioned by HEFCE to provide an assimilation of current activity within the UK HE sector in relation to benchmarking. The first phase project aims to draw together information on available and potential data sources and services for benchmarking, produce an inventory of benchmarking activities across the sector and generate some more in-depth case studies of selected benchmarking initiatives. It is envisaged that this will point the way to a second phase project, which will aim to improve and increase benchmarking capacity and capability in the sector, to support increasing efficiencies.

This report outlines the results of a survey conducted by the University of Bedfordshire. The survey was included as part of an action plan to help find the best-fit model for the development of a new employability/skills award offered by the university.

This report provides an account of the scope and nature of UK higher education awards delivered in China and an overview of UK institutions' management of the academic standards and quality of learning opportunities associated with those awards. The report is based upon the findings of a survey of UK institutions' activity in China.

Harris Report
In June 2000, Sir Martin Harris, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manchester, was invited to carry out a review of the careers services of HE institutions in England. The purpose of the review was to help universities and colleges identify and disseminate best practice across the sector.
