Are you an academic looking for an innovative and successful university to take your next step?

2017 has been a year full of prizes, publicity and recognition for the NTU community, culminating in our receipt of the prestigious University of the Year award. Along the way, we’ve recorded some of the highest student satisfaction levels in the country in the 2017 National Student Survey, and achieved the TEF gold standard for the quality of our teaching. We are also extremely proud to have been named Modern University of the Year in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018. Criminology at NTU has recently been ranked 9th in the Guardian University League Table. All of these achievements are testament to the passion, ideas and ambition of our workforce.

Our rise up the league tables, alongside a number of prestigious national awards, demonstrate the potential that creating and forging excellent partnerships, while harnessing the talents of all our people, can bring. Most notably we have been awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for our pioneering research.

Sociology at Nottingham Trent University is more than an academic pursuit. By working through our staff, students, graduates and external partners and beyond the confines of the university, we actively seek to make a positive and lasting difference to the communities we are part of. Our large inter-disciplinary team is committed to shaping knowledge, policy and practice through highly rated courses and an outstanding reputation for theoretically informed, applied research.

The work of our team is expanding and we are looking for a new colleague to join us. The successful applicant will be active members of our thriving research community, deliver core teaching on the postgraduate courses in career development and help us to shape future provision.

For this role, candidates should have an understanding of the major subject areas within Career Development.

We are looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with a knowledge base and skills in:

  • Career and labour market information including post 16 and post 18 progression routes that incorporate high level vocational/technical qualifications and progression routes.
  • Digital/blended teaching and learning approaches for career management and delivery of career development.
  • An acute awareness of contemporary career development issues of particular significance for the future development of the industry and profession.

For detailed information please see the person specifications and job description.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come. Help us to go even further
