The Careers Centre at the University of Reading supports 15,000+ students across 33 departments. Our 35-person strong team was recently named “Best Undergraduate Employability Service 2018”. We’re looking for an outstanding Programme Manager and Careers Consultant to join us to create a new “Fly Higher” programme to engage our finalists. 

The University of Reading Careers team is looking to appoint a “Programme Manager and Careers Consultant”. The purpose of the role is to design, manage and deliver a new “Fly Higher” career development programme for final year students. The appointment is for an initial 3-year period.

This an exciting role in which you have substantial creative freedom, resource and scope to produce a new flagship programme with significant reach across our final year student community.

You will lead on:

- planning, delivery and production of a career engagement and development programme for final year students, including for example large scale assessment centre trainings

- sourcing and engaging of external programme suppliers and contributors including external training companies and career coaches

- promotion, marketing and student recruitment for the programme

- budget management and programme evaluation

You will also contribute to the core activities of the Careers Consulting team, including looking after a small caseload of department-based and central careers work, and delivery of shorter team projects.

You will be a seasoned programme manager with direct experience in designing and delivering careers training at graduate level. A strong communicator, you’ll be skilled at building and maintaining effective networks and managing multiple priorities. You’ll have significant relevant CPD and training experience, including working with individuals, small and large groups and engaging students remotely.
